The mother/son dance is the dance between the mother of the groom and the groom. If you have more than one mother in your life, one can cut in at the half way point of the dance so you can dance with both of them. Or, choose two songs and reserve a special dance for each. Some choose to have both the father/daughter dance and the mother/son dance happen at the same time, to the same song.
